DonnaMarie SanSevero is a New York paramedic by day, but by night? She’s The Reverend D.

As The Reverend D, SanSevero specializes in officiating truly unique, offbeat weddings — think gothic, Halloween nuptials or ceremonies that feature the “Imperial March” from “Star Wars” as the processional song. And if this requires her to dress up like Elvira or quote raunchy lines from “Showgirls” during the service? No problem!

HuffPost Weddings talked with The Reverend D about the craziest weddings she’s performed and why it’s so important to offer couples a quirky, personal ceremony.

Prohibition Bakery might be the only cupcake shop where you’re required to show I.D. before enjoying a sweet treat.

That’s because all the cupcakes are flavored like your favorite cocktails, and yes — there’s real alcohol in the frosting and filling. With flavors like Old Fashioned, White Russian and Margarita, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve stumbled into your local bar instead of this cute New York City bakeshop. And the bakery caters weddings, so if traditional white wedding cake isn’t your thing, you can serve your guests your favorite drink as a cupcake instead.

HuffPost Weddings spoke with Leslie Feinberg and Brooke Siem, the masterminds behind Prohibition Bakery, about how they developed their boozy flavors and if it’s possible to actually get drunk off these cupcakes.

Christina Hendricks plays the unlucky-in-love Joan on “Mad Men,” but in real life she’s been in love with her husband since the day they met.

Hendricks told British news outlet The Sun Wednesday that she was drawn to her now-husband, actor Geoffrey Arend, immediately after they were introduced by her “Mad Men” co-star, Vincent Kartheiser, in 2007.

“There was something very striking about him when I first saw him, and I knew I was very intrigued and attracted to him,” Hendricks said. “I was able to get his number on a pretext and then over the next few weeks and months we began seeing each other and at one point we just knew it was right between us.”

Sean Parker isn’t finished defending his recent forest wedding.

In a 9,500-word essay published on TechCrunch Thursday, the Napster co-founder recounted the entire story of his wedding and railed against media reports and Internet commenters that described his Big Sur, Calif. wedding to Alexandra Lenasearlier this month as “tasteless” and “eco-trashing.”

Parker said his wedding, which was held on campground land owned by the Ventana Inn & Spa, was “magical,” “lush” and “surreal,” and said that “Lord of the Rings” costume designer Ngila Dickson designed fantasy-inspired costumes for all 364 guests to wear.

Here’s something you don’t hear every day in the wedding world: not every bride wants to wear a dress.

For many in the lesbian, queer and transgender communities, the perfect wedding outfit is a clean, classically-tailored suit. But as HuffPost blogger and LGBT wedding planner Bernadette Coveney-Smith knows, it’s virtually impossible to find a chic, wedding-appropriate suit made for the female body in stores. So six months ago, Coveney-Smith launched Fourteen Style, an online boutique that specializes in pants, jackets, vests and shirts designed for customers of varying gender identities.

HuffPost Weddings spoke with Coveney-Smith about how difficult it can be to find the perfect wedding suit in stores, and how Fourteen Style’s suits differ from average formalwear.

Instead of preserving their wedding gowns and stowing them in the back of their closets, many adventurous brides are choosing to destroy their dresses (using water, paint or even cake) for increasingly popular “Trash the Dress” photo shoots. But one recent Trash the Dress shoot has some wondering if the trend has gone too far.

After Natasha Samuel and Daniel Yakcobi married on a beach in Israel in May, Samuel and photographer Eric Simantov staged a Trash the Dress shoot in which Samuel put on her gown, doused the back in flammable liquid and set it on fire, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday. Simantov quickly took the photo before Samuel ran into the ocean to put out the flames.

One photography fan took a leap of faith when he proposed to his girlfriend last week, and he has a photo to prove it.

New Yorkers Peter and Betsy are huge fans of photographer Jordan Matter, whose photo series “Dancers Among Us” captures professional dancers striking poses in public places.
