It’s almost summer (as in, it starts tomorrow), and you know what that means — time to stay out late, dance your heart out to great music, and have fun with your friends! And what better place than amazing music festivals! Even if you don’t live nearby, these gatherings are definitely worth the pilgrimage.
Bonnaroo
June 13–16
Great Stage Park, Manchester, Tennessee
Not only does Bonnaroo boast four days of concerts by some of the biggest names in music (Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, and Kendrick Lamar, anyone?) but there are also tons of other activities to keep you entertained. Enjoy the Apples to Apples Game Lounge, the Broo’ers beer festival and sets by comedians like Ed Helms. Bonnaroo is also perfect for outdoorsy girls — camping on-site is encouraged!
Electric Daisy Carnival
June 21-23
Las Vegas Motor Speedway
If electronic dance music is your scene, you’ll love Electric Daisy! More than 500 performers will take the seven stages, and festivalgoers can also enjoy circus acts like fire twirlers and aerialists.
Lollapalooza
Aug. 2-4
Grant Park, Chicago
Lollapalooza is a great option for city girls — it’s held at the picturesque Grant Park in Chicago, so you can explore the city when you’re not rocking out to Ellie Goulding, the Lumineers and the Killers (just to name a few). And if you’ve got little ones, don’t miss the kid-friendly performances and activities at Kidzapalooza!
Outside Lands
Aug. 9-11
Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
The music festival for foodies! The selection of food at this festival is mouth-watering — think gourmet eats like spring rolls and pork bacon chili — and the selection of performers is equally impressive. Watch acts like Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and Band of Horses, then feel free to pig out and enjoy the classy Wine Lands wine tasting.
